The skies are still blue.  The grass is still growing like crazy.  And the humidity still chokes me every time I walk outside.  Summer is still very much present and for that I am thankful.  Fall is also very much on its way and for that, I am very excited! In the early days of summer, I shared with you the 10 things on my summer bucket list.  I’ve had the pleasure of fulfilling each and every item, so I thought that I’d get a head start and share with you what’s on my fall bucket list!

Just love this quote!!

“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.”
― Lauren DeStefano, Wither

I’m pretty sure my father will be happy to see this on the list (Hi Dad!).  Growing up about an hour outside of the Steelers Nation, you can’t help but love ’em, even if sometimes I think I could run a better defense in flip flops.  You win some, you lose some, but a Steelers fan I’ll always be.  I never claimed to be a girly girl (I’m still not sure that I’ve mastered walking in heels), so my ideal Sunday afternoon is spent with a bowl of chili in front of the tube yelling with the guys.  Here we go Steelers, here we go!
Pumpkin pie.  Pumpkin spiced lattes.  Pumpkin rolls.  Pumpkin cake.  I pretty much LIKE pumpkin flavored anything!  Or pumpkin spice scented everything.  And so this time of year, it just suits me!  Are you a fan too?  You can download a FREE printable of the best homemade pumpkin spice creamer – here!
For a year I couldn’t get into a book.  I just couldn’t.  It happens to the best of us. Just over a month ago I finally got back on the reading kick, but I’ve only made a small dent in the pile of books that I want to read.  Instead of filling my mind full of more junk from social media, my goal is to work my way through the pile (and any other suggestions) as the weather continues to change and nights spent on the porch turn into evenings curled up on the couch with a blanket.
Besides pumpkin-flavored everything, I’m pretty sure this is what makes fall, fall! If my fridge doesn’t have a gallon of this stuff in it during the fall, something is terribly wrong!  Hot or cold, I love it all and I’m really looking forward to trying this adult version.  Do you have any favorite ways to use a gallon of liquid gold?
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been working on making some changes to my home.  On Labor Day my mom and I spent quite a few sweaty hours going through my closets, bagging up items to donate or pitch.  With the amount of weight that I’ve lost over the past year and a half, I’ve gone through nearly three whole wardrobes worth of clothes.  So 6 garbage bags and 2 boxes worth of items are making their way to a local thrift shop. I’m hoping that this trend and motivation towards a more simplified life continues!
If I could be a full-time student for the rest of my life, I would be!  No doubt about it! I enjoy learning and the excitement of taking on new challenges.  So this fall, it’s my goal to add some more knowledge to this brain of mine.  My mom and I start pottery classes this coming Monday, which I’m totally stoked about!  Messy fun! Eek!
I might even consider taking on some other challenges over the coming months. Who knows, it could be learning HTML, how to finally use the knitting needles in my possession, or what it takes to move my blog to WordPress (sigh – this will probably NOT be as much fun as the others).  [Update: It wasn’t fun!]

  1. I found your absolutely lovely blog through Holley Gerth’s linkup. I’m a year-round pumpkin pie fan {I ate 2 whole pies singlehandedly last month}. My fall bucket list also includes taking lots of walks to enjoy God’s autumn creation – love the colors!

    1. Oh girl, I applaud you for the pumpkin pies!! I can’t wait to dig into one this fall. An Autumn walk sounds like a great addition to the list. Thanks for the suggestion! Hope your fall is a ball! 🙂 Be blessed!

    1. Aww, thanks Staci! I can’t wait for everyone to “meet” and really dig into what Annie has to say. So much goodness! Thanks for your support and prayers, as always! Hugs!

  2. Love your blog Bree! I’ve never made a “bucket list” so maybe that should be one of my firsts! I also LOVE pumpkin flavored/scented everything. I love to read as well but never have the time anymore. I’ve been working so much this past year I haven’t taken time to enjoy the things I love to do. I’ve had to sacrifice many things in order to afford my house, car Dan student loans 🙁

    1. Jennifer, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! I struggled with trying to find enough time to sit down and read something for entertainment value over the last few years. I think you just need to work it into your schedule and find a book that really speaks to you. I promise it’ll be worth your while! 🙂 Hope you have a very pumpkin-filled fall filled with blessings!
