For years I thought that I wanted to lose weight, not only to gain more self-confidence, but also to improve my health.  I’d lose 5 pounds here, 2 pounds there, but it always came back.  I’d try diets for awhile and then give up.

Then something happened last May.  Maybe it was the thought that the guy that I had feelings for was moving back to town, or that I was finally out of school (again) and had some freedom to take on some other activities.  I begrudingly went to a Zumba class with a family friend and fell in love!

Dancing around to loud music, paired with counting calories and really watching my portion size, as well as cutting out pop (soda for you northerners) entirely; the weight started melting off.

I used to hate exercise of any kind!  And I really hated sweating!  But suddenly both of those things became a new passion; a new driving force and I carved out my schedule AROUND my Zumba sessions.  And now a year later, I have a much healthier (nearly exercise-induced asthma free) body to be proud of!

YES – that is the same shirt! I actually had to tuck it back because it’s so loose!
