Reason For Being

Over the last couple of weeks I have received a few reviews of my website from a site of anonymous viewers.  These viewers, though they do not seem to be Christians, for the most part are usually rather receptive to the message that the Imperfect Vessel shares.

Unfortunately, not everyone seemed to understand the reason for being here and so I asked some of my friends over in the Intentional Filling community last week for their thoughts as I contemplated a change to my tag line as “Brokenness Into Beauty” didn’t seem to be working.

If you scroll back up to the top of the page (it’s okay, I’ll wait), you’ll see just below the name of the site, “Finding Purpose in the Imperfections” which is the new tag line that my sweet community members helped me to select.  I believe that this provides a clearer picture of this website’s reason for being as I strive to encourage others that it is the purpose that God has called us to that outweighs any of the flaws and imperfections that our lives hold.

What Else Is New?

When you place your trust in God, the callings He places upon your heart and the future of those missions, things begin happening.  And from a small community of eight active members in the fall of 2014, the Intentional Filling community of seasonal book study participants has grown.

With a growing community comes a growing sense of new and exciting ideas…and with that comes more (wo)man hours.  Leading an entire growing community on my own has been a roller coaster of emotions; from shear panic, to elation, to an ever-growing sense of anxiety.  But God knew that and so He has once again blessed me and this community with four women who are willing to step up to lend a helping hand.

I introduce to you the new leadership of the Intentional Filling community for 2015!

2015 Intentional Filling Leadership Team - www.imperfectvessel.com

This group of women are not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.  They all are made up of unique gifts given by God that will be such a blessing to this community.  I am so honored and beyond excited to work with these ladies, and to see what we can do together, with God’s help!

Coming Up…

Want to learn more about these incredible ladies?  Sign up for the upcoming Spring online book study!

We’ll be opening the exclusive Facebook group a week early this study so we will have plenty of time to get to know one another.  During that week the leadership team will be sharing more about themselves and in what areas they’ll be lending aid to the community.

We’d love to have you join us as together we’ll be reading “Make It Happen” by the inspiring Lara Casey and will be working towards making goals and dreams (that right now seem far fetched) possible.  Want more information?  Click here to read more.

Also, since these sweet gals will be helping to unload some of the many responsibilities for running these studies off of my shoulders, I will be able to dedicate some more time in bringing content to the Imperfect Vessel blog again.  I know that I’ve been neglecting that area of this site and so I’m looking forward to sharing some of the ideas that I’ve had bouncing around my head.

As always

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your love and support!  Your comments mean the world to me, so thank you for not giving up on me, even on those hard days when I wanted to throw in the towel.

If I’ve learned anything in the last seven months, it is that my ideas for the future and my time frame for it all to happen is not always best.  But if we keep seeking purpose in the imperfections of life, by allowing God to lead the way, we’ll end up in a place much better than we imagined in the first place!

What things are happening in your life that God has shown His faithfulness?

    1. Hi Sarah, thanks for the heads up. I’ve corrected the link. Also just below there is the form that has been embedded in the site, so hopefully that didn’t deter anyone. Looking forward to connecting with you! 🙂

  2. Lovely blog! Community is so important! I actually preregistered for the study in January, and paid but never received any info. I couldn’t remember where I signed up, and I used a discount code so it was only 5.00 otherwise I would have tried harder to find you guys. If I sign up again, will I get an email or something when the study happens?

    1. Thank you so much for you comments. I apologize that you did not receive information for the Winter study. Can you please email me at bree{at}imperfectvessel{dot}com so that I can look into this further. And yes, an email will be sent out two weeks prior to the start of the study (the week of April 5th) with information for those who pre-register.

  3. Love the logo, name and tagline of the blog! Also love how you are listening to God’s voice and will as you move forward into this amazing endeavor! God’s greatest blessings! Peace, Jody

    1. Thank you so much, Jody! This place has been a work in progress… very much like each of our lives; refined by God’s grace. I hope you’ll stop back again soon and consider joining us for the spring study! Be blessed!

  4. I am glad you don’t give up. 🙂 I always love reading your blog because I know it is a place to be encouraged in my faith, not distracted. One way God has shown His faithfulness in my life is by calling my family to a new church. The timing turned out to be perfect, just another reminder that God is in control and has a plan.
