I’m perfectly imperfect in every way.  And because of that The Imperfect Vessel was the perfect fit for this here blog.  Yes, I just used imperfect and perfect way too many times in two sentences, but hear me out!

My life has seen a fair share of bumps and brusies.  There are some days that I feel like that the facade will give way and reveal all of my cracks and weak places.  But what if I let down my guard?  What if I show the messy side of me and allow my scars show that I’m stronger than what has fought against me? What if I tell the world that I’m perfect in my imperfections?

Revealing the not-so-pretty parts of yourself can be scary.  It can an anxiety-inducing experience, but it can also be liberating!  Just think about all of the energy you spend trying to BE perfect.  You can’t BE anything else but who you are.  Sure you can paint yourself up, change your hairstyle, diet and exercise like a fiend, but when it comes down to it, you’re still YOU.

And. That’s. Okay!

My sweet friend Katy, over at Handmade Escapade, posted a teaser image for new shirts a day before The Imperfect Vessel launched.  Call it fate or call it divine intervention; I took it as confirmation that the new direction I was heading in was the RIGHT direction.

I immediately commented on her post remarking that this new creation couldn’t have come at a better time.  And she replied that she actually thought of me while hitting “publish”.

I’m excited to share with you probably my favorite of all of her designs (and I have bought roughly a dozen of her handmade items)!

Introducing the IMperfect tank in pink or navy.

These tanks fit perfectly (pun totally intended) and are super soft.  They wash well and are going to be great for the lead up into summer.
I get to pick up my shirt tomorrow,
but you can order your very own today!

Think of this shirt as step one of that liberation.  It can be a tool as you step out and tell the world that it’s okay to let your guard down.  It’s okay to let the scars show.  It’s okay, because I’m perfect, imperfections and all!

Which shirt color combo is your favorite?

  2. Oh Bree, I love this. Perfectly Imperfect. Or I’m perfect. How wonderful that God sees me as perfect. And maybe because of my imperfections. I always think “in spite of” but “because” gives it a whole new meaning. I certainly want to reach my full potential in Christ. Thank you for encouraging me today.
