It’s another edition of Currently, where I share what’s going on currently
(I know, go figure, right?) in this little life of mine.  It’s also a great opportunity for me to connect with others through the awesome link up over at A Mama Collective – they accept me, even though I’m not yet a mama, whew!

I’d love for you to share your current happenings in the comments below or join me over at the link up – here!

Thinking about: how incredibly blessed I am to have such supportive people in my life (online and off).  This past week has been incredible challenging on many levels for me and I have been blown away time and again by the responses I’ve received to the news that my full time position at my current place of employment is being eliminated in less than a month.

I shared only a bit of how hard this process is for me, because I’ve mainly being playing “grown up” by wearing a smile on my face and joking in order to get through the uneasiness I feel; though tears seem to be readily available and willing to burst from my ducts at a moment’s notice.

Also thinking that I need to make time to sit down and properly thank all of those who are praying their hearts out that something turns up, that not only satisfies my financial needs, but also one that satisfies my heart for serving and that fulfills the plans that God has for my life.  So until then, here’s a start – THANK YOU!

Reading: Nothing at the moment, except for the classifieds and Indeed.com!  I have a blog post drafted (in my head) of the books on my summer reading list, but I don’t feel it would be fair to post it since I don’t have the time to sit down and crack one open.  Hoping to find a moment to begin this <affiliate link> before it begins collecting dust on my nightstand.

Praying for: peace in my heart and a willingness to trust that God has this whole debacle under control.  Since I received the news at work, I’ve really been struggling in my prayer life.  Luckily, I’ve been able to be humble enough to ask for help, but it frustrates and frightens me that I keep drawing blanks when it comes to talking with my Maker about the concerns I have for the future.

Listening to: the new Vesper’s CD.  Have you heard of them?  They have a great folksy sound and many of their lyrics are Biblically inspired.  I really like the sound of this record and I am happy that I was able to be a part of their Kickstarter to fund it.  Totally bummed to learn they were at Alive this past weekend (just a short drive from here), but happy that others were able to enjoy their message.

Watching: reruns or catching up with some of my shows OnDemand.  I watched the latest episode of Suits last night and though it has a very different

Thankful for: the opportunity to spend time doing some of the things I love this past weekend.  I lead a Zumba class early Saturday morning, took a leisurely drive after an appointment, got to spend time with my church family, and worked on a few projects for some additional income.  Also got to interpret a powerful message Sunday morning, and spend time with some of my He’s Alive family and IRL family.

Wishing/Planning

This week’s goals:

  • Schedule doctor’s appointments ASAP
  • Keep checking for new places to apply
  • Get clothes together for concert on Sunday
  • Finish Zumba routine & get it filmed
  • Get a few blog posts scheduled & guest posts ready

Working on: some fun new designs!  The title image is a sneak peek into the new quirky, fun and much more fitting logo for The Imperfect Vessel.  Final design is on it’s way to a blog near you on July 1! 🙂

Thank you for reminding me that Suits is back. I love that show. I hate that Mike left Pearson Spektor, but I think this season is going to be amazing, watching him battle with Harvey from the other side of the table.

  4. Time in the in-between is so difficult. I hope something immeasurably more presents itself for you.
I have not heard of The Vesper’s – definitely checking them out!

  5. Bree – praying for you and the job search. Remember, too, that we have the Holy Spirit praying for us when we don’t have the words ourselves. He knows your needs, and He will provide – even if the road ahead is bumpy and difficult… even if it doesn’t look the way our society says it should… He will never leave you nor forsake you!
In the words of the hymn I sing to my kids every night:
“I am Jesus’ little lamb. Ever glad at heart I am, for my shepherd gently guides me, knows my need and well provides me, loves me every day the same, even calls me by my name.”

  6. I hope something great turns up soon! Job hunting is no fun, but I’m sure it will all work out. In the meantime. that Zumba class sounds like a blast! I’ve always wanted to try that. Have a great week!

  7. I hope your job situation turns around quickly! My husband was laid off in April, which was scary! He found a new one fairly quickly, so I pray that you do as well! I love Zumba…one of my favorite ways to burn off some calories and the ‘stuff’ from my day!
