Week Five | Orphans Find Sonship at the Table
“Since sin entered the world through forbidden food, coming together at the table transforms the prohibited into permissible. It turns the upside-down nature of sin right-side-up and causes food to unify us. It calls us back to a time before the fall and brings restoration through table companionship.”
Week Six | The Feast of Trumpets
“While the modern version of this feast is fun and tasty, we learn in the 7 Feasts study, the deeper meaning of this appointed time.”
Week Four | Embrace the Becoming
“Little did I know that I had experienced what Rebekah Joy calls the fifth posture—perceiving encounters with the divine. From that moment, the message of Psalm 91:4 established a tabernacle residence, mishkan, in my soul.”
6 Ways to Overcome Busyness and Remain R.O.O.T.E.D in the Word
“No matter what season I’m in, I need to make sure that I’m carving out time for Him! So, today I’m sharing 6 ways that I’m intentionally overcoming the busyness in my life and remaining firmly R.O.O.T.E.D. in the Word.”

The Gospels: Part 1 & 2
“By learning the context of the Bible and getting to know Jesus in His cultural, historical, and geographic world, I’m seeing details I have never seen before!”
The Divided Kingdom & The Remnant Returns
“Even when the Israelites did their worst and both kingdoms were taken into exile, God was getting ready to show them His best.”
Week Four | Blessed By Being Ready for the Return of Jesus
“The more I read and study the context of Scripture, the more confident I become with the knowledge that as long as we are safe and secure in Jesus we don’t need to fear God’s wrath.”
Week One | Blessed By Seeing the Glorified Christ
“Yes, it’s important for us to think of Jesus and the 33 years He spent on earth, to get to know His culture and world. We should strive for Jesus to be as familiar to us as He was to John. There’s great value and blessing in knowing Jesus and His ministry during His time on earth, but it’s also necessary for us to brush off our imaginations and pay attention to how John described Jesus in Revelation…”
God, The Master Artist
“Everywhere where we look we see God’s beautiful and extravagant creations. He was and is intentional about everything He makes.”
Week Three | The Mystery of the Name
“…we must be mindful of the reputation we form as a member of the body of Christ. And more importantly, we need to be mindful of what our words and actions say about our Heavenly Father. Are we representing Him well?”
I’ve been writing most of my life. Who knew not all ten-year-olds write letters to their aunts all the time? Much of my early creative writing was in the form of poems and songs. I love words so much, that in addition to writing, I edit and review others’ books.
Praying Like Nehemiah
“I would love for my prayers to change me like they did Nehemiah and my grandma. I aspire to have prayers as powerful as theirs, preparing the way so I can carry out God’s plan and become everything my Heavenly Father has created me to be.”
Joy is passionate about helping people encounter the Bible as the original hearers did, not just to gain knowledge but to gain a greater understanding of God and His redeeming love woven throughout the Old and New Testaments.
The Fingerprints of God
“We made our list for the day, but God made one, too!”

Love Like Jesus: How to Spread the Gospel Naturally and Authentically
“Through conversations and kindness, we choose to introduce people to the Most High God by showing them how Jesus feels about them. No pushiness. No obligation. No awkwardness. No judgment. Just extravagant love and the Holy Spirit’s power.”

“As followers of Jesus, we have immeasurable blessings, but one of those blessings specifically is that we do not need to be frightened or worried about these books mentioned in Revelation 20.”

“When we read Revelation 2-3, we are essentially reading a report card, created by Jesus, for each of the seven churches of Asia.”
Week Seven | God’s Image Stamped in Dust
“When we look at the Bible through a Middle Eastern Lens, we no longer see the need to resolve the paradox that is created by the “wrathful Father” of the Old Testament and the “compassionate Son” of the New Testament.”
Week Five | Praying with Chutzpah
“Bold, persistent, unflinching honesty, lacking trepidation, and timidness–these are all words I underlined in this week’s reading as it came to describing how Jesus wants us to be in prayer.”
Week Five | The Feast of Weeks
“When it comes to Scripture, not a single word is ever wasted. So, when God instructs His children to count fifty days, there is significance in that number.”
Week Eight | The Feast of Tabernacles
“It is human nature to desire comfort and convenience, but the thing is, God doesn’t call us to be comfortable.”
