For months I followed TCR on FB and out of curiosity checked their website one day in June to find that they had a race coming up in Pittsburgh, just an hour away from where I live! I immediately texted my friend/little sister, Kayla, who also has the streak of an inner child and we signed up the following week in July under the team name, Coloring Outside the Lines! We had custom shirts made up by Handmade Escapade, a fantastic handmade business in Wheeling! They exceeded expectations and were a huge hit at the race! Thanks Katy – you rock!
The day of the race Kayla and I got up at 3:45 am (yes, AM!) and headed to McDonald’s where we were turned down, not once by twice. We finally got our Pumpkin Spice Lates and McGriddles and were off to Pittsburgh. We arrived at South Park around 6:00 am and got ourselves ready for a day full of fun and color.
