In 525,600 minutes this blog has been transformed into a new creation.  Something bigger and much more meaningful than I could have ever imagined when I decided to rename and re-brand this space just a year ago.

See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  {Isaiah 43:19}

There was something missing in space until a year ago and it was authenticity.  I was tired of trying to keep up with “Pinterest Perfect” expectations of society and always finding a silver lining to every situation.  I was tired of not being real and not being able to bear my heart and what it held.  It was too much pressure.

So instead of giving up, I decided that I’d start letting my flaws show and ask that people accept me as I am, a broken and imperfect vessel.  It was one of the single most terrifying and freeing things I have ever done!  And looking back, I wonder why I didn’t do it years ago.

But God knew.  It had to be May 3rd, 2014.  That was the day that the new creation, of myself and this space, would enfold for the world to see.  God knew that it would be a place where women could come and find the authenticity, the real-deal stories of heartache and failures, struggles with perfectionism and the season of singleness, and know that they’re not alone.  And God knew that there was much more to this tiny online space than I could have ever imagined.

Many people have come forward to thank and even congratulate me on the success of the birth and growth of the Intentional Filling community and seasonal book study (not sure what this is, learn more here), but I’m proud to say that it has been God’s work and His hand that has guided it to what it has become in just a short seven months.  I am just the vessel in which He has decided to pour His gifts and guidance.  I am just the worker bee that has decided to follow His lead.

And yet I am still the broken and imperfect vessel that wakes every morning with a choice to make.  And I know that as I reflect on what God has done with my tattered and broken heart, that decision has become easier and easier, to say “Yes, Jesus, I trust You and whatever it is that You have in store for me.

What will your choice be?
